Pre-start Preparation
① Inspect Equipment Condition
Ensure that all idlers rotate freely and are not jammed by any material. Check that the surfaces of the drums (pulleys) are clean and free of any adhered debris.
② Avoid Load Startup
It is strictly prohibited to start the conveyor while it is under load. This prevents motor overload and avoids belt slippage.
③ Verify Joint Integrity
Inspect the belt joints (whether mechanical, cold-bonded, or hot-vulcanized) to ensure they are flat, secure, and show no signs of debonding or edge lifting.
Operational Standards
① Control Running Speed
The recommended running speed is ≤5.0 m/s. A lower speed should be adopted when transporting materials with large lumps or high abrasiveness, or when using fixed plow-type discharge devices.
② Prevent Belt Misalignment (Tracking Issues)
If the belt deviates to one side, adjust the position of the drums or idlers accordingly. Follow the industry principle: "The belt runs toward the loose side, not the tight side; it runs toward the larger diameter side, not the smaller."
Material discharge at transfer points must be centered. If necessary, install baffle plates or adjust the width of the guide chute (recommended to be about 3/5 of the belt width).
③ Avoid Damage from Foreign Objects
It is strictly prohibited to allow metals or sharp, blocky objects to mix into the conveyed material, in order to prevent scratching or puncturing the belt.
